General
7 questionsWhat is FORGE?
Two separate products that share one account. FORGE is the training app, on your phone and on the web: a plan built for you, your sessions, your food and your progress. FORGE Ride is the online cycling game, on a Windows PC or in the browser: real routes, ridden live on your home trainer with other people.
Do I need the app to play FORGE Ride?
No. Each product works on its own: you can only train with the app, or only ride in the game. They are linked by your account: the app’s Ride tab opens the game, and your XP and progress are shared between the two.
Is FORGE really free?
Yes. The app and FORGE Ride are free. And for the launch, the whole garage of the game is unlocked for everyone: every kit, helmet, pair of wheels and frame.
Are there ads?
No. FORGE shows no ads, uses no advertising or analytics trackers, and does not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
Where can I use it?
The app: on the web right now, in any browser, and you can install it on your home screen (on iPhone: Safari → Share → “Add to Home Screen”). The Android app is ready and coming to Google Play. The game: download it for Windows (10 or 11, 64-bit) for the best graphics, or play it in your browser.
How old do I need to be?
At least 13, or 16 in the European Union, the EEA and Switzerland. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must accept the terms for you.
Which languages?
French and English, in the app and in the game. By default the app follows your phone’s language, and you can switch at any time.
How do I create an account?
In the app, with Google or with your email (a sign-in link or code, no password). The same account works in the app, in the browser game and in the Windows game. You can start without an account and create one later: what’s on your phone is kept.
Why an app and a game together?
Because they help each other. The game feeds the app (a hard ride adds food to your menu and XP to your rank), and the app gives the game a plan (structured workouts, your FTP, your goals). One account, one rank.

FORGE Ride
13 questionsCan I run instead of ride?
Yes, that’s FORGE Run. On the game’s home screen, choose RUN: your rider becomes a runner on the same 51 routes. Connect a smart treadmill (Bluetooth FTMS) and its incline follows the hills, from 0 to 15%; the game never touches the belt’s speed. No connected treadmill? A Bluetooth footpod (Stryd, Polar…) gives your speed. Your runs are saved in the app as treadmill runs, with their XP.
How many routes are there?
51, in 16 countries on 5 continents: 4 official Montréal 2026 courses, 4 real roads in Québec, 12 real climbs of the Tour and the Giro, 2 real stages, 15 real roads around the world (from the Tour of Flanders to the Great Ocean Road, by way of Kona and Mount Fuji), 6 worlds (Polders, Sakura Valley, Provence, Tuscan Hills, Alpine Pass, Pine Ridge), 6 challenges and circuits, the Grand Tour of Europe across four countries, and a never-ending free ride where you pick your road at every junction. Want more? The route generator builds you a new one, up to 200 km.
Can I ride in Montréal and in Québec?
Yes. In Montréal, the four official 2026 courses: the Tour de l’Île (48.7 km), the Worlds circuit on Mount Royal (13.4 km, up Camillien-Houde), the Worlds time trial (39 km, through Old Montréal and circuit Gilles-Villeneuve) and the whole 277 km elite road race. Elsewhere in Québec: Gatineau Park, Mont-Tremblant, the Chemin du Roy along the St. Lawrence, and Charlevoix.
Can I ride elsewhere in the world?
Yes: 15 real roads around the world, each with its own scenery. In Europe: the Tour of Flanders (Belgium, 14.7 km), Trollstigen (Norway, 18.8 km) and Sa Calobra (Spain, 12 km). In the Americas: Big Sur (USA, 38 km), Mount Blue Sky (USA, 44.5 km, up to 4,300 m), Ironman Kona (Hawaii, 84.6 km), the Icefields Parkway (Canada, 234.6 km), the Alto de Letras (Colombia, 78.6 km), the Curvas de Farellones (Chile, 31.4 km) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, 19 km). And further still: Mount Fuji (Japan, 30.9 km), Guilin to Yangshuo (China, 72.6 km), Qinghai Lake (China, 186 km), the Great Ocean Road (Australia, 91.6 km) and the Cape Town Cycle Tour (South Africa, 105.5 km). Palms and colourful houses in the tropics, black lava in Hawaii, steppe on the Tibetan plateau, eucalyptus in Australia.
Are the climbs real?
Yes. They are traced from real map and elevation data: Alpe d’Huez (14 km, 21 hairpins), Mont Ventoux from Bédoin, the Tourmalet, the Galibier, the Izoard, the Madeleine, the Stelvio (48 hairpins), the Mortirolo, the Giau, the Croix de Fer, the Aubisque and the Grand Colombier. Two full stages too: the queen stage of the Alps (111.6 km) and Lourdes to the Tourmalet. And elsewhere in the world: Sa Calobra in Mallorca, Mount Fuji, Mount Blue Sky (4,300 m), the Curvas de Farellones in Chile and the Alto de Letras in Colombia, the world’s longest climb (78.6 km).
How do I install FORGE Ride on my PC?
On the Download page, click “Download for Windows” (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, about 500 MB). Open FORGE-Ride-Setup. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”: the installer is new and not signed yet, so Windows doesn’t know it. Then launch FORGE Ride from the Start menu.
How do races and group rides work?
The world is shared: you ride live with the other people online. A race starts every 30 minutes, on the same schedule for everyone, and there are group rides too. Along the way, segments give medals and personal bests, and you can chase the ghost of your best ride.
What are the race categories?
They come from your FTP per kilo: A from 4.0 W/kg, B from 3.2, C from 2.5, and D below that. You race against riders of your level. No FTP yet? The game has an FTP test, and it can also detect your FTP on its own.
Are the other riders real people?
The riders you ride with are real people who are signed in, and you can chat with them. The pacers are bots, and they are always labelled as bots: nobody invented is ever counted as a person.
How do medals and boards stay fair?
The segment boards only take efforts with measured power (a smart trainer or a power meter), and only times that are physically possible. In a race, only riders with measured power get the check mark next to their name.
Is there a night mode?
No. You pick the light and the weather instead: automatic, morning, midday, evening, overcast or rain.
Is there music?
Yes, two built-in playlists: “Motivation” (upbeat) and “Chill”. You can turn the music off and keep only the ambient sound of the countryside and the towns you ride through.
How do I ride online with others?
Sign in to your FORGE account (in the browser game, from the app; on Windows, SIGN IN on the home screen opens a sign-in page). Then pick a road: everyone riding it is in the same room, on the web or on Windows. Each road shows how many riders are on it right now.
Does the Windows game update itself?
Yes. At start the game checks for a new version; if there is one, a yellow band offers it on the home screen. One click: it downloads, checks the file, closes, installs and reopens. Your progress and settings stay.
How do I quit the Windows game?
QUIT, at the top right of the home screen: click it twice (the second click confirms). From a ride, open the menu to come back to the home screen first.

Devices
6 questionsWhat do I need to ride?
A bike on a home trainer. A smart trainer, a power meter or a heart-rate strap makes your effort count (XP, boards). Without a sensor you can still ride to try it out.
Which trainers and sensors work?
Bluetooth smart trainers that speak FTMS: Wahoo, Tacx, Elite, Saris, JetBlack, Wattbike, Stages, Magene, Thinkrider and more. Also power meters, speed and cadence sensors (e.g. Garmin) and heart-rate straps. On the Windows version, they all connect by Bluetooth right on the PC.
Does the trainer change resistance on the climbs?
Yes, on a smart trainer: the resistance follows the slope of the road. Drafting is real too: tuck in behind a rider and you save watts. A trainer only takes orders from one app at a time: close Zwift or the maker’s app before you start.
What if I have no power meter?
Every effort carries its source. Measured power earns full XP. Power estimated from a heart-rate strap, or from a basic trainer’s speed sensor, earns 60%. Power you type in lets you ride and watch the world move, but earns no XP and never reaches a board.
Can I connect my sensors from an iPhone browser?
No. No browser on iPhone or iPad offers Bluetooth to web pages; that is Apple’s restriction. To ride with sensors, use the Windows version, or Chrome or Edge on a computer (or Chrome on Android).
What about treadmills?
The app also has an indoor running mode. With a connected treadmill, the incline can follow the hills of the road. Control of the incline and belt speed is off by default: you turn it on yourself.
I only have a speed sensor on my wheel. Does it work?
Yes. On a basic trainer, the game reads your wheel speed (Garmin, Wahoo, Magene speed sensors and others) and turns it into watts with a typical fluid-trainer curve, about 200 W at 30 km/h. It’s an estimate, marked as such; a smart trainer or a power meter measures it.
And a cadence sensor alone?
It works too: your pedalling pace gives an estimated power (about 150 W at 85 rpm). Put it on the crank arm, not on the wheel.
My sensor disconnects when I stop pedalling.
That’s normal: speed and cadence sensors fall asleep a few seconds after the wheel stops, to save their battery. The game says so and reconnects it by itself as soon as you pedal again. A smart trainer that drops is reconnected the same way, and it takes back control of the resistance.

The app
7 questionsWhat does the app do?
You answer a few quick questions (goal, level, schedule, equipment, food…) and a full training plan is built on the spot, in blocks and weeks. Each morning, a short check-in (sleep, soreness, stress) sets your readiness. The app also records your outdoor activities by GPS, sizes your meals to your goal and tracks your progress.
Is there an Android app?
It is ready and coming to Google Play; the link will be on the Download page as soon as it’s live. Until then, open the web app in Chrome and install it on your home screen: same account, same plan.
Does it connect to Health Connect or Apple Health?
Yes: Health Connect on Android and Apple Health in the iPhone app once it’s out (coming). Your steps, sleep, resting heart rate and the workouts from your watch come in automatically.
Can I import my activities from Strava or Garmin?
Yes. In the Move tab, import a GPX or TCX file from Strava, Garmin or your watch. You can also connect a heart-rate strap while you record outdoors.
Does it work offline, without an account?
Yes. Everything is stored on your phone first, and the app works with no account and no internet connection. An account adds backup and sync across your devices, friends, clubs, the leaderboard and riding with other people.
Can I send my rides to Strava?
Yes, by file: an indoor ride can be exported as a TCX file (“Export for Strava”) that you upload to Strava.
Is it medical advice?
No. FORGE gives general fitness and nutrition guidance; it does not diagnose or treat anything. Check with a doctor before starting a new program, and stop and get help if you feel chest pain, dizziness or sharp pain.
Does the app make a meal plan?
Yes: a menu every day for your calories and your protein, with real recipes (30,167, in French and English), portions to the gram and a grocery list. Vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, keto, halal, gluten-free or lactose-free.
How does the nutrition coach adjust my calories?
Set a target weight and a date. Once a week, the coach compares your weight trend (not a single morning) with the planned pace, asks if you followed the menu, and adjusts by small steps, never below a safe minimum. More on the Nutrition page.
Can I scan a barcode?
Yes, in the food log: scan a product or search the Open Food Facts database, and the calories and macros come with it. The rest of the day rebalances itself.

Garage, XP & rewards
5 questionsWhat’s in the garage, and what does it cost?
Kits and jerseys, helmets, glasses, shoes, wheels, frames and bike skins for your rider in FORGE Ride. For the launch, the whole garage is free: everything is unlocked for everyone.
What are sparks?
The garage currency. Every XP you earn anywhere in FORGE (sessions, runs, meals, rides…) is also a spark. For the launch you don’t need them, since the whole garage is unlocked.
Can I buy sparks with money?
No. Sparks are only earned by training. Nobody can pay to get ahead: no pay-to-win.
How do I earn XP?
By doing the work: 120 XP for a completed session, 6 per logged set, 4 per minute of cardio, 15 per logged meal, 60 for a full day of nutrition, 20 for the morning check-in and 250 for a weekly streak. Your XP is the same in the app and in the game.
What are the real rewards?
7 tiers, from Iron to Platinum, and 97 badges. From Copper on, each tier carries a physical reward: a pin and stickers, an insulated bottle, a training tee, a gym bag, a gift card, then the FORGE jacket. You claim it in the app with a shipping address; every claim is reviewed by hand, each offer has its own conditions and stock, and no purchase is ever necessary.

Account, data & privacy
6 questionsDo I need an account?
Not to train. An account (with your email) is one account for both products: it syncs your data across devices, lets you ride with other people online, add friends, join clubs and appear on the boards.
Where is my data stored?
On your device first. If you create an account, your data is copied to a database hosted for us by Supabase, over encrypted connections, and each record can only be read or changed by you.
Who can see my activities?
Nobody, unless you share them. When you post a route, the first and last 250 metres are cut before it leaves your phone, so it never shows where you start or finish, and posts are grouped by an area of about 10 km, never an address. Indoors, other riders only see your first name and your position on the virtual road.
Do you sell my data?
No. Your training, health and nutrition data are used only to build your plan and show your progress. They are shared with no one except Supabase, which stores them for us.
Can I export my data?
Yes: Settings → Backup → Export a copy. You get a single file with everything, which you can also restore later, with or without an account.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account removes your account and all of its data from our database right away. To erase what is on your device, use Settings → Reset this device, or remove the app.
